Tokyo Game Show 2006: Konami Wants to be a Rockstar?

Talk around the Tokyo Game Show is that Konami is none-too-pleased that it was blown away by Red Octane/Activision's Guitar Heroes game.

As a result Konami is trying to regroup and reclaim its title as the music game masters.

To that end we have learned that Konami Corporate here in Japan has filed a trademark to the name Guitar Revolution.

The game won't come with a guitar peripheral like Guitar Heroes, but it will have an arcade and a console version.

Konami is no stranger to the guitar music scene, back in 1999 they released an arcade version of Guitar Freaks!
