All is not well in the land of THQ. To prove this point the company has decided to cancel the PlayStation 3 version of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Smackdown vs. Raw 2007. The game was supposed to be released this fall. But instead it is cancelled. THQ has announced that the series will skip a year and will debut with the 2008 edition next year.
Activision Gear’s up for Bond Games
Call of Duty 3 developer Treyarch is now hiring talent for Activision’s first James Bond title. Casino Royale will hit theaters this Christmas, but Treyarch’s game won’t see the light of day until well after the film’s release. Activision won a bidding war for the James Bond license from Electronic Arts.
EA Announces Two Surprise Wii Titles
We have given you all of the details about the launch of the Nintendo Wii. But we have learned that Electronic Arts is working on two titles, that weren’t expected to be released for the Wii. SSX and The Godfather will be coming out for the system.
Ubisoft in the Driver’s Seat
Atari has sold Turner down the street to fellow Frenchmen Ubisoft. Not only will Ubisoft be taking over the franchise, but it will also be getting the game assets and personnel who made the series in the form of Reflections Interactive.
